The best way to define the Christian life is warfare. At the end of his life, Paul describes his ministry as “fighting the good fight,” “finishing the race” 2 Timothy 4:7, and “as one not beating the air” 1 Corinthians 9:27. In 2 Timothy 2:3, he instructs Timothy to “endure hardship” like a good soldier. If this is true about the Christian life, how do we fight the battle biblically?

Step 1: Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Ephesians 6:10 The phrase “in the Lord” is key in this verse, referencing our union with Christ. His life is ours; His power is ours, and His truth is ours.

Step 2: Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. Ephesians 6:11, The word for “put” on, means not to “keep putting on” but to “put it on and keep it on.

We must be aware of the temptation to believe that “If all is well, Satan isn’t working or active.” It is easy to forget that Satan is trying to debilitate you with laziness, indifference, or stagnation, so we must first stand firm in the Lord and have our armor on!
